Purchasing/Buyer Specialist
Job DescriptionPOSITION DESCRIPTION:
Facilitate the manufacture of high-quality brake pads by managing and maintaining appropriate levels of raw materials to meet production needs, and coordinating domestic and international vendor delivery schedules.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Procurement and inventory of raw materials for production and internal-use packaging supplies Analyze actual and planned inventory levels Prepare and place orders for materials based on forecasted product demands Provide product lead times and estimated ship dates Adjust schedule based on production fluctuation Track supplier performance Utilize Oracle procurement system for purchase order and inventory management Issue timely and accurate purchase orders based on production needs Research and correct purchase order and billing discrepancies Maintain minimum levels of inventory Ensure physical inventory levels correspond to Oracle inventory levels Schedule deliveries to facilitate efficient and accurate receiving Negotiate pricing for packaging supplies and domestic and international transportation Negotiate cost based on internal customer packaging and/or transportation needs Propose transportation and packaging changes as needed Source and establish new packaging suppliers as needed Manage and optimize domestic and international freight methods and charges to ensure optimal cost impact to ADVICS Coordinate shipping schedules with vendors and transportation carriers Coordinate with domestic and international transportation carriers for delivery Coordinate and collaborate with vendors and carriers to implement corrective and preventative actions for damaged goods Report Raw Material Inventory Conduct a physical inventory twice a year Conduct a cycle count in each of the other months Plan for the necessary time and labor to be available to do the inventory count Ensure accuracy in each count.
Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business Collaborate with Business Planning and Production Control to develop/improve metrics for gauging inventory level needs to better meet company needs About UsADVICS has a global network for the development, production, and sales of our products, with facilities in North America, Central America, Asia and Europe.
