79/Yr Under general supervision and instruction this position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the LaGrange Callaway Airport.
In performing daily tasks, the manager applies knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory and funding processes, aircraft operational requirements, real estate management and maintenance practices,etc.
Qualifications/Knowledge:
Associates Degree in a course of study related to the occupational field with at least 5 years of experience; knowledge of or experience in managing and planning airport operations preferred.
Must have current valid driver's license Knowledge in Airport Management operations to include the familiarity of appropriate inspections, files and documents required Knowledge of aircraft and tanker fueling procedures; knowledge of departmental and safety guidelines Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and effective public relations Knowledge of relevant laws, county codes, ordinances, and other regulations, policies, and procedures Knowledge of budgetary processes and procedures; knowledge of federal and state grant proposals and reimbursements Knowledge of the functions, organization, and operations of county departments Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs Skill in management and supervision Skill in oral and written communication Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Preforms quality checks on aviation fuel; drains all sumps, filters, and hose nozzle filters daily; tests for water and other contaminants Performs daily inspections of refueling vehicles to ensure proper operation of all systems and components; performs minor repairs and informs supervisor of repair needs Checks fuel levels in all tanks and refueling vehicles; refuels aircraft according to flight crew orders; assists customers in the use of the self-serve tank Inspects runway and taxiway lighting, including directional signage, runway end indication lighting, etc.
to ensure all lights are operational; makes repairs as needed Inspects the Precision Approach Path Indicator for proper operation and alignment; inspects runways and taxiways for foreign objects or debris; ensures arriving aircrafts are properly parked; repositions aircraft as needed Performs airport opening and closing duties; balances cash drawer; prepares check and cash deposits; prepares required reports and paperwork Investigates complaints of safety violations or other misconduct by airport users; refers validated complaints to the appropriate agency for enforcement action Manages sales of airport goods and services such as aviation fuel, hangar and mooring rental, pilot supplies, surface transportation for transient guests, and office space rental Acts as a liaison between local pilots, local governments, and the community at large Prepares financial assistance proposals to obtain state and federal grants; prepares sponsor certifications for the Federal Government Maintains airport files and all information associated with the operation of the airport Coordinates airport construction projects and oversees payment schedules for contractors; ensures that all federal and state financial reimbursements are received Performs all other related duties as assigned Employment Applications will be accepted Until Filled on Troup County's website @ www.
