Production Supervisor - Machining, 2nd or 3rd Shifts

We are looking to fill (2) full time Production Supervisor positions with a manufacturer located in the area of LaGrange, GA.
This is not an entry level position and proven track record of supervisory experience is required.
Salary range $60k to $70k per year. Relocation assistance is provided. Ask about incidental bonus.

Job Title: Production Supervisor
Department: Production
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Job Purpose:
The Production Supervisor will coordinate production department activities and special projects. He/she will supervise team in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
Maintain adherence to all safety guidelines. Review safety performance and provide corrective actions as appropriate.
Ensure customer satisfaction through active promotion of Quality Policy. Assure that department is following established Procedures/Work Instructions/etc. Assure that all prescribed records and documents are properly completed and maintained. Review Quality performance and provide corrective actions as appropriate.
Accomplish 100% on-time delivery through effective daily and weekly production requirements planning. Work closely with Master Scheduler to ensure proper planning and prioritizing.
Achieve daily production needs by coordinating resources and prioritizing tasks. This is to be accomplished with the best utilization of manpower to minimize man-hours per unit and minimize overtime.
Foster a proper working environment through fair, consistent, and respectful treatment of employees; also guiding and expecting same actions from Team Leader position. Resolve employee relation issues through effective remediation techniques. Utilize Human Resources team and/or Manufacturing/Plant Manager to assist in solving unresolved work-related issues.
Conduct various skills assessments and performance evaluations for assigned employees. Establish employee goals.
Develop/strengthen Production team through proper training, coaching, and guidance.
Train employees on Procedures, Methods, Quality Requirements, Safety, etc.
Drive 5S and housekeeping activities to achieve and maintain excellence.
Ensure participation by all team members in continual improvement and cost reduction activities.
Actively promote Lean Manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Monitor resource availability and needs for Production department.
Responsible for staff scheduling to include: work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, overtime assignment, and back-up for absenteeism.
Manage time and attendance accuracy for Production department.
Review, report, and assess daily cell performance and other assigned metrics as appropriate.
Maintain prompt and effective communication to Production group, appropriate support groups and Management.
Provide leadership to team:
Work to develop positive attitude on shop floor.
Work to foster a culture of ownership, passion, and a sense of urgency on shop floor.
Instill mindset of teamwork and cooperation among team members and other departments.
Lead by example.
Qualifications:
CMM / Machining experience required
FMS / FMC machining cell manufacturing experience
High School graduate.
Minimum of two years experience in a Manufacturing environment.
Previous leadership experience (i.e. Team Leader). Previous supervisory experience required.
Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds regularly.
Technical Competencies:
Able to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
Basic computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel).
Strong math skills.
Proven mechanical ability.
Non-Technical Competencies:
Strong communication skills (verbal, written, listening)
Leadership skills (positive "can do" attitude, ability to motivate and influence)
People/Team development skills (training, coaching, team-building)
Results-oriented and takes ownership

Supervisory Responsibility:
Supervisor has direct supervisory responsibility over assigned Production employees. In many cases, he/she will utilize the Team Leader position to assist with basic day-to-day operations.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
